DORICH HOUSE MUSEUM PRESENTS RUSSIAN WINTER WEEKEND 

6 – 7 DECEMBER 2019

A Russian themed weekend of events and activities for the whole family, including our studio Café serving Tea, Coffee and a special selection of Russian inspired cakes on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December.

Friday 6 December

Russian Collection tour with Dr Louise Hardiman 11.00am (Sold Out)
We will be holding a specialist tour focusing on the Russian collection acquired by the Hon. Richard Hare and Dora Gordine which is currently on display at the Museum. Our volunteer guide, Dr Louise Hardiman MA (London) PhD (Cantab), is an independent art historian specialising in Russian art and the history of British-Russian cultural relations. She has recently worked as a researcher at the University of Oxford and has been awarded grants by the Paul Mellon Centre and the Design History Society for her work on Russian Arts and Crafts and the history of Russian Art in Victorian and Edwardian Britain. Her publications include Modernism and the Spiritual in Russian Art: New Perspectives (2017) and Abramtsevo and its Legacies: Neo-National Art, Craft and Design (2019).

Saturday 7 December

All Day Free Art Activities from 11.00am and live Russian inspired music performances
In addition to our regular guided tour at 11.00am, we will be running an all-day, drop-in art workshop where visitors are invited to design and create their own Russian inspired Christmas decoration. Throughout the afternoon there will be Russian influenced music performed in the Modelling Studio by students from the Department of Performing Arts, Kingston University.

Dorich House Museum is Open Thursday – Saturday 11.00 – 5.00pm, last entry at 4.30pm.

Regular Museum entry fees apply unless otherwise stated.
