This Russian icon shows Saint Nicholas in the traditional robes and floral stole of an Orthodox bishop. He is shown full-length with his right hand raised in blessing and a closed Gospel in his raised left hand. Nicholas is flanked by Christ and the Virgin. The icon carries an inscription in Slavonic, translated as ‘Image of Holy Nicholas the Wonderworker’.
