Dorich House Museum

We are pleased to announce that Dorich House Museum has been awarded a Collections Access Grant by the Decorative Arts Society. The grant will support further research and cataloguing of the museum’s unique collection of Russian art, established by Richard Hare at Dorich House and focusing on our holdings of glassware, metalware, papier-mâché, folk art and textiles. We look forward to working with our project collaborators Dr Louise Hardiman and Cynthia Coleman Sparke in developing this research and sharing the findings with our audiences.

In conjunction with this project, we would welcome information from anyone with knowledge of Richard Hare’s activities as a collector, or who acquired objects at auction from the sale of The Dora Gordine and Richard Hare Collection of Russian Porcelain, Works of Art and Icons at Phillips in London on Tuesday 15 November 1994 or through subsequent auction sales.
