International Day for Biological Diversity Talk | 22 May 2025

To celebrate International Day of Biological Diversity, Dorich House Museum will be hosting a special talk focusing on the connection between natural and cultural heritage. Join the Museum Curator Fiona Fisher, Kingston University’s Biodiversity and Landscape Manager Sivi Sivanesan, and Royal Holloway University Biological Sciences graduate Lucy Houliston as they discuss their work and the intersections between them. Fiona Fisher will provide a background on the history the museum’s garden during Dora Gordine’s life, Sivi Sivanesan will introduce how Kingston University manages its natural heritage, while Lucy Houliston will talk about her Urban Orchid Insect Research Project of which the Dorich House Museum garden featured.

This talk will take place in the ground floor Plaster Studio. The museum will be open as normal on this day so you are welcome to explore the rest of the house and use our café before or after the talk.
