Six dates between 16 Jan – 20 March | 12:00 – 14:00pm | Free | BOOK HERE
Ariadne’s Thread Group are back at Dorich House Museum for a free 6-week course on traditional weaving techniques on small individual frame looms. This is the final stage of their annual flax growing project which involves using up leftover yarns and other fibres from their previous harvests. All sessions will take place in Dorich House Museum’s first floor Modelling Studio.
This activity is suitable for beginners. Anyone who would like to learn the traditional methods of weaving in a safe and creative environment is welcome.
Weaving will be done independently on small frame looms. Participants will be encouraged to explore their own creativity and make individual textile artworks, which they will be able to keep.
The course will run at 12:00 – 14:00pm on Fridays on the following dates:
16 & 30 January
6 & 20 February
6 & 20 March
These are not drop-in workshops. Participants should attend all sessions to be able to complete the project and fully benefit from the slow and mindful learning process.
There are only six places available. If the tickets sell out, make sure to join the waitlist in case of any drop outs.
