Stanley Picker Gallery and Dorich House Advisory Group Opportunity

Call for Expressions of Interest:

Seeking Two New Members for the Stanley Picker Gallery & Dorich House Museum Advisory Group

Upcoming Deadlines: 5pm Thursday 10 June 2021 and 5pm Thursday 2 September 2021.

Kingston University’s Stanley Picker Gallery is one of the leading university galleries and commissioning venues in the UK, working with artists, designers, students, academics and members of the local community to encourage creativity, learning, research and innovation. The University’s Dorich House Museum is the former studio home of the sculptor Dora Gordine and her husband the Hon. Richard Hare, a scholar of Russian art and literature; completed in 1936 to Gordine’s design, it is an exceptional example of a modern studio house of a female artist.

Our Gallery & Museum Advisory Group meets four times a year to oversee and advise on the strategic development of both cultural venues. The Group comprises an equal balance of University and external individuals with a relevant range of expertise, skills and duties to effectively support the ambitions of our two venues. All appointments are made for an initial period of four years.

We are currently seeking two new members to join the Advisory Group, one University and one external, and would particularly welcome applicants who may have a connection with local cultural networks and/or experience of collections management and/or experience in audience development and/or experience in digital engagement.

NB: We are proactively seeking to improve the diversity of our Advisory Group membership and welcome applications from individuals who are currently underrepresented in the arts and heritage sectors, including those from Black, Asian or minority ethnic heritage, those who face socio-economic barriers, those who identify as LGBTQ+ and those with disabilities.
