European Heritage Days: Learn to Cross-stitch

Thursday 8 & Thursday 29 October | 11am-2pm |Free/Drop-in
Join us for European Heritage Days and learn how to cross-stitch with local group Ariadne’s Thread who will be working on their large-scale tapestry “Blue Cornflowers” in the museum’s modelling studio on the first floor.
The tapestry reproduces a painting by the celebrated Ukrainian folk artist Maria Prymachenko and is an ongoing participatory installation which anyone is invited to join. Also on display will be examples of folk textiles and traditional embroidery samples from Ukraine. Ariadne’s Thread will provide all needles and threads and teach you the cross-stitch technique.
No experience or booking is necessary, just turn up!
